The city of Winnipeg was walloped Thursday morning by a blizzard we all thought would last a little longer. Within minutes of the blizzard’s onset, city buses came to stops in the streets and the power grid more or less didn’t care except for parts of Fort Garry.
In a Facebook update posted before rush hour, Winnipeg police advised motorists to stay off the roads because they know you’re a shitty driver too. Additionally, parents were left horrified at the news of school-closures throughout the Louis Riel, Pembina Trails, River East Transcona, St. James-Assiniboia, Seven Oaks, Winnipeg, and Seine River School Divisions, leaving them stuck inside against their will with their children.
Per Environment and Climate Change Canada’s accurate weather models, Winnipeggers can expect Friday to bring 5cm out of the 15-20cm originally forecasted by their wildly accurate weather models.
Liquor and cannabis retailers remain open.
